SIS Book in a Day

On Thursday 17 October, Sinead Ryan, Kellie Spicer, and Amy Cheers travelled with their students from across the three Padua campuses to St John’s Regional College in Dandenong for the presentations of the SIS Book in a Day Competition. All three Padua Campuses participated in the book writing competition in term 3 and were excited to peruse the published stories from other schools and take part in the awards ceremony. After some chocolate-fuelled literature trivia, the presentations for the awards began.

The brilliant team from Padua Rosebud were nominated for awards in ‘Most Moving Passage’ and won the award for ‘Best Use of Illustrations’ in their dystopian novel ‘New Future’.

The imaginative authors from Padua Tyabb were nominated for the ‘Most Intriguing Blurb’ Award for their novel, ‘Raven’.

Padua Mornington’s team of thought-provoking novelists were nominated for the ‘Most Intriguing Blurb’ as well as the ‘Best Character’, and also won the award for ‘Best Cover Illustration’, in their science fiction story, ‘Oswald’.

Each team was recognised for their strengths and left the presentations feeling positive about the experience overall.
