Director of Campus Report

As we draw to the end of a very busy term, we take a moment and a deep breath to have a look at what has been happening at the Rosebud Campus.

SIS Sport

Huge congratulations to the Intermediate Girls Football team coached by Mr Smith who managed to bring home the SIS Girls Football Premiership by defeating Cornish College. They were the red hot favourites for the title.

We also had a number of students competing in the SIS Chess Competition, culminating in the championships this week. Although our students did not walk away with any silverwear they had a great experience and represented our College proudly.

The State Netball Championships will occur this Friday and will involve combined teams from all campuses. We wish all players the best of luck.

Students have been working hard to complete assessment tasks and make sure that all work is up to date. There is the opportunity to discuss your child’s progress with staff at Parent Teacher Progress Interviews this Thursday evening and Friday. Please note that Friday is a student free day so that staff can complete progress interviews.

As the weather continues to improve it is a reminder that 1st September marked the beginning of Uniform Changeover, students are now able to wear either FULL WINTER Uniform or FULL SUMMER Uniform until the end of Term 3, however, students are asked to not “Mix and Match”. I would also take this opportunity to remind all students that they need to wear correct PE uniform only on their scheduled PE Days with particular note that black leggings/track suit pants and black socks are not part of the Padua PE uniform. Can I also ask that dress lengths be addressed at home as a number of our girls have had a growth spurt over the winter and now the hems on the Summer dress need attention. It may also be an opportunity to stow away the soft shell jacket and only use this when cold rainy conditions prevail. We appreciate the continued support of parents in maintaining a high standard with our uniform.

Casual Dress Day

As part of Padua’s commitment helping others, we are allowing students to come in casual clothes and we encourage students to wear colours of their favourite sporting team. If students elect to come in casual clothes they are also committed to a$2.00 donation and this will be collected on the day.

In the last week of term we will celebrate the last 10 weeks with a Campus assembly organised by Goold House. We will recognise student achievements both academically and on the playing fields. It will be an opportunity for students to perform a musical item.

We take this opportunity for all students, staff, parents and carers to enjoy the upcoming break and make the most of the time that you have together. It is also an opportunity for our students to reset their goals, look at what they can achieve and raise their expectations.

God Bless
