SUSAN McLEAN – CARING FOR KIDS IN AN ONLINE WORLD

In a world where cyber technology issues are ongoing challenges for all of us, the Padua College Parent Group invited Susan McLean, author of ‘Sexts, Texts and Selfies’ and one of Australia’s foremost experts in cyber-safety and young people, to present information to us regarding the challenges of cyber-safety and discuss what we can do about the issues confronting us. It was a wonderful night and some fact sheets that Susan provided to us are available on our website under the Parent Group tab.

Please go to Susan’s website at http://www.cybersafetysolutions.com.au/ for further information.

PARENT COOKING EVENINGS

These evenings are both fun and very productive as we cook meals to be given to Padua families at times when they might need some support. If you would like to be part of future evenings, please send an email to Sarah Hansen at the college (shansen@padua.vic.edu.au ) and she will add you to our list. We would love to see you there. We have sufficient food at the moment so we will not need our night planned for Thursday 29 August.  The next night will be early Term 4. Stay tuned for the date!

PARENTS & PARISHES EVENING – SONGS AND STORIES OF HOPE

TUES 3 SEPTEMBER, 7.30-8.45pm

This is the second time we have run the Parents & Parishes Reflection Evening at the college. Last year’s event was a great success and we have again invited singer/song writer Maria Forde to lead us in exploring this year’s school theme of HOPE. Mark the date down in your calendars.

ARTHURS SEAT CHALLENGE

SUNDAY 10 NOVEMBER 2019

The Arthurs Seat Challenge is Sunday 10 November this year, and a group of parents have already begun discussions about getting a Padua Team together, and organising the now traditional Padua College BBQ at the top of the mountain.

If you would like to get involved through participation in the challenge or assistance on the BBQ, please send through your details and I will pass it on to the parents coordinating our activities.  (mharrison@padua.vic.edu.au )

POSITIVE EDUCATION AT PADUA COLLEGE

The College is very excited about the ways in which we are striving to meet the educational and social-emotional learning needs of our students. The roll out of Positive Education across the College continues this year, with the development of ‘eXcel’, our new pastoral program.

The program we base our activities on is called Learning Curve and parents are very much encouraged to have a look through the program. It can be found at
