Cross-Country Season

As the cold and wet sets in we are getting ready for Winter. That does not stop our students from being involved in a range of activities. SIS sport continues with Year 8 and Year 9 netball and football. This week we have had students involved in the SIS Cross-Country, the students training and hard work paid off with the 32rd SIS Championship coming to Padua! Well done to: Charlize Culwick, Amy Doyle, Tyler Fox,  Xavier Gee, Xander Harbour, Sam Hercus who placed second in the U/13 boys, Tom Huon, William Jenkin, Kaidn Katramados, Cohan King, Joshua Lyall, Keely Phillips, Clancy Rowe, Neve Savage and Poppy Travers.  Again these students represented us well.

Thirteen of our students also volunteered to help out with the local Primary School District Cross-Country event. Acting as “hares” on the course, these students ran all day in cold and wet conditions. The compliments these students received from the Primary school staff was heart-warming.  Also a big thanks for the Year 9 students who helped out in running our Year 7 Rally Day.

Year 9 Leadership - Altitude Day

On Monday 3 June the Year 9 Leaders from all campuses travelled to Melbourne for a Youth Leadership Forum. This event is called Altitude Day and is a one-day event created to empower Year 9 students. Through a blend of inspirational talks and energising group activities students learned more about how to become active and inspiring leaders of their school community.

Year 7 Masses

Throughout the term our Year 7 students have celebrated mass as a house group. The students, under the guidance of their House Co-ordinators and Mr Peter O’Halloran, have come together and shared a mass in a small group with Father Mac from Sorrento Parish.
