Somerville Crime Scene Services Visit

On Friday 1 March both Mr Dynes and Ms Modd’s Year 9 Forensics classes were fortunate to have Leading Senior Constables Kylie and Sally pay a visit from Somerville CIU. The students were given the opportunity to hear about 'real life' cases and were able to have their fingerprints taken using magnetic dusting powder. Both classes also heard about the case of Hekel the monkey who was stolen from the Melbourne Zoo a few years ago and how fingerprinting was used in this case. At the end of each session the students asked a range of questions ranging from 'What do you enjoy most about your job?' to 'What is the most common murder weapon?' along with recruiting questions.
