Padua Rosebud Young Gun Impresses at State Titles!

Padua Year 8 student Sarsha Pancic (Year 8 Goold) competed in the Victoria Junior Surfing Titles at Gunnamatta on the weekend of 16-17 March.

In absolutely ripping conditions, Sarsha was able to get the win in the Round 1 heats and advance into the semi-finals in style. With a record number of U/14 Girl entrants, all girls had to surf in the beautiful, off-shore conditions with great class and composure in what was some very stiff competition.

Surfing Victoria hailed Sarsha as the top performer in the division, achieving a massive heat total which included a near-perfect score of a 9.43. She now holds the record for highest wave score total in U/14 girls in the state rounds!

Judges commended her on her performance and how she was “able to put her competitors in a combination situation and hold a stranglehold of the highest scoring wave of the day!” Such a brilliant effort for one so young!

Sarsha continued her impressive streak and progressed to the final where she finished in a very pleasing 3rd place U/14 girls!

GO SARSHA!!
