Welcome to Faith Matters

Wishing all members of the Padua College community a wonderful Advent season. As we prepare for the coming of the Christ-child this Christmas, I hope that we all have an opportunity in the busy-ness of these last few weeks of the year to give thanks for all we have, for the beautiful part of the world in which we live, and for the message of Jesus bringing light to our world.

Some of our students have begun the journey to Easter, preparing to receive the Sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation.

Our College Pastoral Associate, Mary Cameron and Faith Formation Leader, Ange Virgona have begun working with the students and their parents.

The Sacrament program works through Term 4 and then Term 1 2018. It has been successfully running for a number of years.

As we head into the Advent season, there are some fun and very clever reflections on the Christmas story that can be found on-line. For those who remember singing along to the Eagles’ ‘Hotel California’, this will entertain.

(Thanks to Ange Virgona for finding this and other Advent reflections for our staff.)

Some thoughts from the lyrics to take away with us this Advent …

* Always remember what is the truth.

* What “shining Star” gives you light?

* What is it that keeps you up in the middle of the night?

* Shepherds…. What has brought a tear to your eye recently?
