Year 11 Students

“O-Week” for Year 11 students commencing Year 12 in 2018 concluded on Thursday 23 November and on Friday 24 November we celebrated Mass and the Year 11 Final Awards Assembly in the Girolami Centre. This was a celebration for our Year 11 students and I thank them for the manner in which they conducted themselves throughout their final day. For those students not returning to Padua College in 2018, I extend to you my very best wishes for the future and to those students preparing for Year 12 studies in 2018, I urge you to build on the beginning of your Year 12 studies by completing all set work due at the beginning of 2018.

Year 10 Students

Year 10 Exams commenced on Friday 24 November and concluded on Wednesday 29 November. Today, Thursday 30 November all current Year 10 students will be at the Mornington Campus for the Year 10-11 Transition Day and then Year 10 students will celebrate their final day, liturgy, Awards Ceremony and Social Evening tomorrow, Friday 1 December. On the final day for Year 10 students social functions will be held that evening at The Mornington Racing Club for students from Mornington Campus, The Rosebud Year 10 Social is at the National Golf Club, Cape Schanck and at Victoriana in Hastings for students from the Tyabb Campus. Students will need to have attended school on their final day, Friday 1 December, in order to be permitted to attend the Socials. I ask parents also to support the College’s request not to provide ‘after-function’ parties, nor permit your children to be involved in same.

It will continue to be stressed to students that the Year 10 Social functions are not formal occasions. The dress standard for both functions is ‘smart casual’.

Grade 6 2017 Parent Information Nights for Year 7 2018

Over the last two weeks we have had Parent Information Nights at each of the Campuses for incoming Year 7 2018 parents. Parents have appreciated this opportunity to meet with Leadership personnel at each of the Campuses and learn a little about the commencement of their child’s secondary education. It was wonderful to have our 2018 Year 12 College Captains speak at these evenings and I thank them for their involvement.

Human Powered Vehicle (HPV) 2017

Padua College’s HPV squad competed in the RACV Energy Breakthrough last weekend and entered two teams with quite a number of students who had not participated previously.  Both teams performed very well and I congratulate the teams and thank all accompanying staff Mrs Gabe Noonan, Mr Sam Noonan, Miss Jessica Gauci, Mr Peter O’Halloran and also Mrs Marion Robinson who retired earlier this year but returned to attend one more HPV this year!  Also Senior Students, former students Ben Hill and Abbey Hanson and our parent helpers for their ongoing support of the students in the squad.
