Antonine College Students Visit Padua

Not many of our students know about Maronite Catholicism, but this year our Senior VCAL students made a meaningful connection with some Lebanese Catholic Year 12 students from Antonine College in Pascoe Vale. On Tuesday 12 September our VCAL students welcomed a group of Antonine students to visit Padua College. Holly Taylor was project leader and she prepared a liturgy which was held in our chapel. During the Liturgy Mrs Tania Grace explained to our Antonine visitors the spiritual significance of architectural features in the St Francis Chapel. Our VCAL students treated Antonine students and staff to a home-made “Australian” lunch and conducted a tour of our College. The Antonine students were particularly fascinated by the size of our school, the open space and baby goats in our Ag and Hort area.

Reminder to parents of students who have applied to undertake a VCAL program at Padua College in 2018

All students applying to undertake a VCAL program at Padua College in 2018 are required to have a selection interview. Students who are new to VCAL must have an interview with a parent / guardian. Students who are in a VCAL program this year will still need to have an interview (during the first week of Term four), but parents will not be required to accompany them.

If you have received a CareMonkey asking you to make a VCAL Selection appointment and have not yet done so, please contact Sarah Bounds. Only those students who have completed the interview process can be placed on 2018 VCAL class lists.

VCAL Presentation Evening

All students undertaking VCAL at Padua College in 2018 (and their family members) are invited to attend our Presentation Evening on Thursday 19 October in the Padua Mornington Library. This is a compulsory assessment evening for all current VCAL students.
