SunSmart Students

The sun protection times are a forecast from the Bureau of Meteorology for the time of day UV levels are forecast to reach 3 or higher. At these levels, sun protection is recommended for all skin types.
In Victoria, UV levels regularly reach 3 or higher from mid-August to the end of April.

Checking the daily UV forecast is easy. There is a SunSmart UV widget on SIMON (Students Intranet)  in the top right corner - It gives you a live rating as well as a maximum forecast UV daily level.
Why not install the SunSmart app on your smart device. You can set notifications to advise you when sun protection is required.

The summer uniform, which can be optionally worn from 1st September, includes a hat and wide brimmed hats offer the best protection from the sun.
The College recommends students wear a hat outside during times of high UV levels and compliment it with 30+ sunscreen whenever outside for extended periods.

As we all emerge from winter into the warmer months, the College hopes all members of our wider school community consider UV levels when enjoying the sunshine.
