Paduan Parent Page

Greetings to you all as we experience another busy term.

Many of you will have daughters or sons heading into subject selection decision-making for next year, and Year 12 students will be thinking about what happens next year amidst their Term 3 studies and commitments. It is always best to start these conversations as soon as material is available so that students and parents can have a good amount of time to reflect and talk through the range of options. It’s an important time, and best decisions are not made at the last minute.

Please also remember the Parent Forum advertised below. Resilience at these times can be really important and Hugh van Cylenburg is a renowned expert in this area.

PARENT FORUM

Wednesday 23 August 7.30pm

Frayne Centre Mornington Campus

THE RESILIENCE PROJECT

The Padua Parent Forum Group invite you to attend an evening with speaker Hugh van Cuylenburg, founder & director of the Resilience Project, to find out about how we as parents can help build resilience and positive emotional well-being in our children. PARENT ON-LINE RESOURCES

There are so many useful parenting resources on-line, but it is hard sometimes to know which are worthwhile.

Each week we will highlight some easy to use but well researched and documented sources which may be of assistance.

If you are concerned about your daughter or son’s on-line use, the Parent Tech site has a wealth of material available on topics from good tech use to cyber-bullying.

For instance, if you go into the resources section you will find material on a range of topics, including this resource in their informative discussion on on-screen time for adolescents …

If you find a great on-line resource, please email it through on the address at this end of this page.
