Disney's Beauty and the Beast

Padua College, this year, proudly presents Disney’s Beauty and the Beast - to be performed by a large student cast and band from across all three campuses.

Disney’s famous 'tale as old as time', Beauty and the Beast is a step into the enchanted world of Broadway's modern classic! Based on the Academy-Award winning animated feature, the stage version of Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST will transport you to the heart of provincial life in a lovely French town. It includes all of the wonderful songs written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr Menken and Tim Rice.

The story follows Maurice, who becomes lost in the woods on the way to the fair, then seeks shelter in an old castle. The master of the castle is a horrible beast that takes him captive. Maurice’s daughter, Belle, must then give up her freedom to save his life. Belle's taming of the unfortunate Beast and his ultimate transformation back into a handsome prince, has enthralled Broadway audiences for over 13 years.

This musical is family friendly, full of both comedy and drama, and is both suitable and appealing to all ages.

Production Camp

Exhilarating, exhausting but very exciting, sums up the Production Camp experience!

The Production Camp Experience at Lord Somers Camp was a first for Padua College and was a big success - both extremely productive and rewarding. 151 student cast and band members attended, supported by many staff. 13 hours of rehearsal took place across 2 days, in order to reduce the number of Sunday rehearsals, and to achieve our first full run of Act 1! Yay, we now have half a show!

A lot of fun was had along the way, with many thanks to our senior student cast members, especially Brody McCarthy, Abbey Seal and Ed Church, who organised and supported the younger students in the Camp Concert. Even when not rehearsing the students continued to sing, dance and act! As quoted by our fabulous camp manager, Alex Escudero, "This camp was just like the movie Fame".

A BIG thanks to all staff who attended and sorted out logistics. We could not be prouder of the way students were focused, worked hard, behaved, supported each other and had the most amazing spirit of fun and enthusiasm through the 2 day intensive. I'm sure we all slept well on Friday night!

Bring on the next 2 months of hard work to come, knowing we are half way to what is promising to be a fabulous production!

Tickets on sale very soon!
