Dear Parents & Students

Staff News

Congratulations to Mr Luke Tyrell (T) on the safe arrival of baby Chase recently.

Community Information Evenings

We held very successful Information Evenings at each of the Campuses last week at which we outlined the Educational Strategic Plan, the Master Plan for the Mornington Campus and also displayed some drawings of Stage 1 of the Master Plan which is the first of two Year 10-12 Learning Centres. There was great enthusiasm from those in attendance and I look forward to sharing more details of these developments as they occur.

Progress Reports

Progress Report Evenings have occurred at all three campuses over the last two weeks and I thank all staff, under the guidance of Vice Principal, Learning & Teaching, Ms Kelly McGurn, for their time and efforts in working with our students. I also thank parents for availing themselves of the opportunity to meet with teachers so that we are able to work collaboratively so that students are able to achieve their best.

Year 12 Celebrations

Parents of Year 12 students will have received communication from the Vice Principal – Year 11 & 12, Mr Curtis Stone, regarding changes to Year 12 celebrations this year. These changes include a Year 12 Formal on Thursday 8 June. As the Year 12 student body conclude their time at Padua College we will be celebrating their graduation with a full College Assembly on Monday 23 October at which we will acknowledge academic and significant award winners. On Tuesday 24 October we will have the final day of classes and assemblies for all Year 12 students. This day is a compulsory day and concludes at 12.45pm. Students are required to be back at the College at 4.30pm on this day for a 5.00pm start for Graduation Mass, wearing their full Winter Uniform. The evening concludes with a sit down dinner at the Mornington Racecourse starting at 7.00pm. This event affords both students and parents to come together as one for the final event at the College, an event that our parent body recognises as essential to being part of the College community. On Wednesday 25 October we will have our Year 12 Celebration Day and the VCE Exam Period commences on Wednesday 1 November:

Cross Country Camp

A number of students from all three campuses attended the Cross Country camp late last week in preparation for the SIS competition taking place in the near future. My thanks to Mr Terry Luppino, Mr Emilio Di Paolo, Mr Nick Gleeson and Mrs Jenny Tomkins for attending this camp with the students.

VCE Premier’s Award

It was a wonderful privilege to attend the VCE Premier’s Awards at Crown Palladium and witness Year 12 2016 graduates William Klarenbeek (Computing: Infomatics) and Jade Nye (Music (VCE VET) receive their Awards. Congratulations again to their teachers, Mr Steven Sosic and Mr Mark Mannock, on assisting their students in achieving these results.
