Deputy Principal's Report

The first week back for Term 2 has once again seen the Year 11 and 12 students shine across the board. The involvement of such a large number of students in the Padua Day Celebrations highlights what a wonderful community we are involved in. The SSC need to be congratulated for the work in the preparation and running of the lunchtime activities that entertained all students from every campus of the College. Taking such an active role in the life of Padua College underlines the development of the whole person and the sense of belonging that out students have to their school. This can only be done in conjunction with the continued support of all families and the wonderful and committed staff at Padua.

As we begin to re-engage with our classroom studies as Unit 1 and 3 continues on at such a rapid pace, the study habits that have been ingrained over the years and particularly in Term 1, now come to the fore. Whilst some students may find this time more challenging than others, communicating with your parents, teachers and other supporting areas within the College, is paramount to be able to work at the optimal level. Organising time for study, balanced with external commitments, plays an important role during Term 2. The need to find time to step away from your studies is just as important as study itself.  Finding the balance is the key. The SAC calendar allows both parents and students the ability to look ahead and plan for those busy times.

As always, I encourage all parents to continue to be active members of the Padua community, engaging in conversation about what topics are being studied in class, keeping abreast of upcoming events and making contact with subject teachers as needed.
