Russell Saunders

College Business Manager

Russell Saunders has been involved in Education for the past 17 years, having previously been Business Manager at Presentation College Windsor for 10 years and Assistant Business Manager at St Johns Dandenong for 5 years.

Russell has a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from Monash University and a Certified Practicing Accountant. Prior to Education, Russell owned his own business and worked at the National Australia Bank in various positions for 12 years.

He lives in Edithvale and is married with 3 children. His two eldest have completed school and the youngest is currently in Year 9 at St Bede’s College. Outside of work, his passions include running, golf, cricket, local football (Edi-Asp) and the St Kilda Football Club. He is also a Board member of St Bede’s College, Mentone. Russell has really enjoyed his past two years at Padua College and is looking forward to its ongoing development, both physically and educationally, over the next few years.

2 016 has been an important year for the College as we commence planning and changes for the next phase under the stewardship of our new Principal, Mr Anthony Banks. One of the first items initiated by Anthony and the Board was a Building Masterplan for Mornington Campus, and it is pleasing that this has now been created. It will serve as a living document and decisionmaking tool, providing guidance for the physical development of the College well into the future. The College is now working hard in all areas of finance, operations and planning to enable the dream to become a reality. While it is a focus, this future funding is also done with an eye on current students and families’ expectations and that of a contemporary learning environment.

Apart from the physical environment, it is axiomatic that a school’s greatest resource is its staff. Padua College has continued to fund and invest in high quality teachers and support staff through providing excellent professional development, a flexible and innovative career structure, strong supports for staff wellbeing and a collegial environment in which staff are challenged to extend themselves and each other.

We now look forward to 2017, as it is an exciting time to be part of the Padua community.
